Hitting the Ground Running
After taking the summer off from working on Space Whales, our team gathered our concepts and hit the ground running with the new semester.
We’ve organized our creation timeline for rest of 2020 and divided the semester into 3 sprints—each sprint an entire iteration of the game. Following this iterative process allows us to cultivate the most efficient workflows for asset creation and lets us get a good grasp of what we are able to accomplish from the start. It eradicates the pressures of perfectionism (atelophobia, yes I Googled that) and allows us to fail fast now, rather than later when deadlines are looming.
Following the first iteration, we are then able to keep honing in on our weak points to make the very best version of Space Whales possible by May 2021.
Fall Semester Schedule:
Oct. 2: Iteration #1 60% asset completion, asset focus
Nov. 5: Iteration #2 70-80% asset completion, story focus
Dec. 4: Iteration #3 90% asset completion
