River Naiad

Swoopy hair, classical sculptural pose, fluttery lashes, lillypads… this piece is an exposition of all my favorite things! I wanted to create a mermaid character that embodied beauty and grace but with some experimental flair in the design of the tail and overall aesthetic.  

Unlike most sea mermaids, she is a freshwater spirit who dwells not far beneath the surface in rivers and lakes.
