DONI TONDO

After visiting Florence and Rome, Italy, I was inspired to create this sculptural piece based on Michelango’s painting Doni Tondo.

This piece was challenging in many ways - one of them being figuring out how to fit the bodies together in a way that made sense in a 3D space when only given the front view in the original painting. Likewise, the cloth drapery was definitely a test of my patience!

Made with Zbrush and Substance Painter, rendered with Maya Arnold.
